The Carlisle Township Board of Trustees were informed by the consortium that two (2) companies have submitted bids for approval. The two (2) companies are Kimble and Rumpke. Republic Services chose not to participate in the bidding process so they will not be of consideration. Final cost amounts will be forthcoming and trustees will then meet to determine the chosen provider. Options both companies offer include a resident's choice of container size ; A) 96 gal trash & 64 gal recycle, B) 64 gal trash & 64 gal recycle, and C) 32 gal trash & 64 gal recycle with costs dependent upon size option chosen. Updates will be posted accordingly.

On September 6, 2023 the Carlisle Township Board of Trustees unanimously voted to join the Lorain County Solid Waste Consortium and has now been granted membership. The bidding process for the next contact for trash/recycling services beginning April 1, 2024 has commenced with five companies expressing an interest in submitting bids. Bid solicitation legal notices have been posted in local news outlets as required by law. Updates concerning the ongoing process will be posted.

At a special meeting on Monday evening, June 12, the Carlisle Township Board of Trustees presented a proposal submitted by the Lorain County Solid Waste Consortium for trash and recycling pickup services for the township. Over 100 residents attended the meeting. For your review is the presentation, the current quarterly bid costs and the evening's Q & A summary.
A second public hearing was held on August 21 and the presenters repeated the information from the June 12 informational session.
